As a small child, I learned that it was no fun to be scared by others or by frightening things. For some reason, older adults thought it was fun to scare little children. At an early age I made a decision that if it was in my power when I grew up, I would not allow anyone to do this to my children or others.
My heart has always felt such compassion for anyone going thru terrifying situations in their lives. The first thing that I want to do is to place my arms around them and watch the Lord exchange all that fear and terror for His marvelous peace. On many occasions He has done this very thing.
One night the Lord woke me up to pray for a young man who had gotten in trouble, was arrested, and put in jail. As I began to pray for him, a picture came before me. He was shaking, shivering, trembling all over. I could literally see the fear and terror all over his face and body and short breaths were being taken as if there was difficulty even for him to breathe. He was curled up in a tight knot, like a baby in a fetal position.
The aloneness of his situation broke my heart. As I began to weep over this child, I cried out to the Lord telling Him that I couldn’t wrap my arms around him, but He could. He instructed me to ask for angels to come to his side and minister to him. Continuing to pray obediently, I saw two angels come into his jail cell. One sat at his feet and the other one at his head.
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14 NKJV)
Immediately, you could see the visible difference in this precious child. It appeared as if an invisible blanket of peace covered him from head to toe. His breathing calmed and became slow and steady, the fear and terror just dissolved before my very eyes, his body unwound from that fetal position, and he fell into a deep baby-like sleep.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?……….For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 38-39 NIV)
Oh, the Love of God, that will not let us go!!! His love reaches to us and others anywhere, anytime, and anyhow it needs.
No jail cells ——- No hospitals ——- No dark, frightening places ——- can keep us from Our Mighty God’s Love. There is no one that He cannot reach, care for, love, and protect from harm’s way.
So grateful that we are SO LOVED,

“For God SO LOVED the world (you and I) that He gave His only begotten Son, (Jesus Christ) that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Wow. I could see all of that taking place as I read it. Beautiful 🙂
