God Placed You
“To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.” Matthew 25:15 (ESV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)
God Placed you Here
My bible study class just currently started the Francis Chan film series, “Greater Than.” In this series, Francis Chan states, “If God has determined exactly when and where you would be born then that means there is a very specific reason that you are alive today. So why are you here? Are you living as if your purpose is to make yourself known or are you living to make God known?” (https://nextstepministries.com)
Why Am I Here?
WOW and OUCH! We are such a busy culture now. Sometimes I really stink at asking myself certain questions I really should ask. I have spent time the past couple of days trying to figure out some of the answers to these questions. Why am I here?
My job is very relevant in serving others. It is sometimes overwhelming, scary, and I feel the pressure because I am a part of shaping a young life. We are all relevant whether you are a teacher, pastor, business owner, doctor, nurse, salesperson, speaker, or you are serving our country. No matter what you are doing with your life, you have a purpose. God has placed you in the small town or the big city you are in for a reason.
God Place Us All Here
We all can use our jobs that God has placed us in to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Use your talent or talents God gifted you with to make a difference in the place where God has placed you. Let Him use you, not to make yourself known, but to glorify him.
“ 4 For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, 5 so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; 7 if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” Romans 12:4-8 (ESV)
