Psalms 34:1, HCSB, “I will praise the Lord at all times;  His praise will always be on my lips.”

The Psalmist declares he will at all times praise the Lord. There are so many reasons to praise God, but as we go through our day, we neglect to praise Him. When life takes a hard left turn, we often forget to praise God because it is hard to praise Him when all we see is the struggle.

As I have obtained more knowledge of the Lord and the scripture, I have learned that my response in all circumstances should be to praise Him. He is worthy of our praise. Psalms 34 lists some reasons to praise the Lord.

Praise Him for Answered Prayer

Psalms 34:4a, “I sought the Lord and He answered me.”

The Bible tells us He hears our prayers. Remember the many times He has answered your prayers. So many times in my life, I have seen God work in amazing ways. Not only should we praise Him, but thank Him.

Praise Him for Freedom from Fear

Psalms 34:4b, “delivered me from all my fears.”

The word fear is in the Bible 365 times or so I have read. God tells Joshua to fear not several times as he is about to lead Israel into the Promised Land. There have been so many fears in my mind through the years and God has definitely delivered me from them. Remember the fears He has delivered you from and praise Him.

Praise God for Radiant Joy

Psalms 34:5a, “Those who look to Him are radiant with joy.”

The skin care industry sells an abundance of skin care products to people who desire to have a radiant glow to their skin. The problem is that the radiance is external, but the radiant joy that God offers surpasses anything money can buy. One of the fruit of the Spirit is joy. By praising God, we are uplifted and that inward joy shines in our lives. People can perceive the inner joy we share.

Praise God for Angelic Protection

Psalms 34:7, “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them.”

The Angel of the Lord is Jesus Christ, the covenant angel. He surrounds His saints with an army of angels. The word fear in this verse means awe or respect. In our lifetime, we don’t know how often the angels have delivered us from pain and sorrow. Praise God everyday for His surrounding angels and Jesus Christ.

God’s Holiness

Years ago, my daughter was in severe pain and I took her to the Emergency Room. I began praising God in my mind even though I was very concerned for my child. As I began to praise Him, the circumstances didn’t change, but I began to relax and know He was in control. My mind shifted from my stress to God’s holiness.

Give Him praise through it all.

About Paula Wallace

A child of God, wife, mother and grandmother of 6 precious children. I love art, nature and treasure my dear friends. Through the valleys and mountaintops, God led me to His saving grace at the age of 32. Since then the valleys and mountaintops have proven His love to me. I am learning to trust Him in all things. My prayer is that you, too, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and trust Him. The Bible verse that I lean on mostly is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”NKJV Paula Wallace
