He’s Already There
“Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 (NLT)
Sitting Right There
As most of you know, I am expecting my first grandchild, a granddaughter, any day now.
Every time my son, Nick, calls, I answer before the first ring has a chance to finish ringing. I think it’s “the call” from Nick and Mallory telling me it’s TIME and the baby is coming. My answer of “Hello” is the shortest hello and it is emphasized into half of a syllable. Now, Nick enjoys just making a random call to me now just to mess with me. But when I do get the call, I will be smiling so big and the words Nick will hear on the other end of the phone will be, “I’m already there.” I want my children to feel as though I am sitting right beside them in their moment of hurt, need, failure, success, excitement, or disappointment.
Drop Everything Feeling
But seriously, anytime my boys call me needing me to be there for them or needing my help, it’s an immediate drop everything feeling. I want them to feel as if I’m already there. Mama’s on the way, but she’s already there in spirit praying over you and asking the Lord to intervene. Every time I hear the song, “I’m Already There,” by Lonestar, it tears me up and it makes me think of the times I have been needed and how my heart broke for the person who needed me.
HE’s Already There
As I have learned more about the Lord, this is exactly how I feel. Whenever the unwanted hits, “HE’s already there.” Whenever I feel like the walls are closing in on me and the hits keep coming, “HE’s already there.” When HE doesn’t answer my prayers, while I’m waiting and continuing to pray, “HE’s already there.”
No Matter What
Have you ever felt like Jesus is in the seat next to you? As I get older, I notice I feel this way a lot. Sometimes I sit and wonder for a second what Jesus might think of me? He probably thinks things like, “how many times are you going to remember I can handle this?” Or maybe he says, “Where is your faith?” I don’t know what you are struggling with today, but I do know whenever we need him, “HE’s already there” no matter what we are going through.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NLT)
Right Then, Right There
We can all relate to someone needing us right then and needing us to be right there. Just as I know the Lord is “Already there,” I want my husband, sons, dad, grandchildren, sisters, family, and friends to always know when they need me, “I’m already there.” I’m on the way, but I’m already there.

Perfect message for honoring our military and their families as well as reminding us that Jesus is already there waiting to hold us us in our loneliness and trials. Being a grandparent is pure joy!!!! Another gift from God.
