Thanks Be To Our God

God adorns His beauty in the sunset and sunrise

“With every mornings dawn, lift up your notes of thanksgiving, and let every setting sun be followed with your song.” Charles Spurgeon

How easy it is to allow the day to pass by and neglect being thankful for God’s many blessings. The sun rise and all its beauty and the fact that God has granted us another day to live and enjoy should give us all pause to thank Him. Life may not be what you expected or hoped at this moment, but we disregard the many things for which we should be thankful. We take for granted our shelter, the warmth provided and the food we eat. These basic necessities have been provided by the grace (gift) of God.

Psalms 66:1-2, NCSB, “Shout joyfully to God, all the earth! sing about the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, ‘How awe-inspiring are Your works!’”

Show Thanksgiving

The word praise is derived from the Hebrew word Halal. It means sincere appreciation for what God has done. It is used especially to show thanksgiving to God. There is no commandment in the Bible that requires praise and thanksgiving to God. However, it is the absolute obligation of a Christian to give thanks and praise to Him. He is worthy of our praise.

Psalms 97:12, “Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones, and praise His holy name.”

Be Thankful

To me, November is the month to be especially mindful of the many things for which to be thankful. My challenge to you this month is for you to be aware of the little things and give thanks to God. Find things you appreciate about each family member and tell them. Recognize the good in the people you come in contact with each day and let them know. Most importantly, thank God. Praise His holy name.

About Paula Wallace

A child of God, wife, mother and grandmother of 6 precious children. I love art, nature and treasure my dear friends. Through the valleys and mountaintops, God led me to His saving grace at the age of 32. Since then the valleys and mountaintops have proven His love to me. I am learning to trust Him in all things. My prayer is that you, too, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and trust Him. The Bible verse that I lean on mostly is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”NKJV Paula Wallace

We would love to hear from you
