Looking at My Pain Differently

Looking at Pain differently

“Looking at My Pain Differently”

“The Worst Day”

I have looked at the date, September 6, as the worst day of our lives for years now. Watching my child have to relearn again everything he already knew how to do was tough for me. It was heartbreaking to see him continually knocked down and faced with everything being much harder now. I know his pain was much more.

My Verse!

Now as 6 years have passed, I look at it differently. We have changed so much. When I look back at pictures, videos, and in my mind remember all that Jacob has gone through, I see how God brought us through each year and how he restored and still is restoring Jacob. Mark 11:24 is my verse! “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” So that’s what we do. When we pray, we believe we’ve already received it.

Checking It Off

As each year has passed, Jacob has set goals and reached them. The goals he’s been working on for the last 3 years is to get his coordination back and to run normally. God placed a guy my oldest son, Nick, played basketball with in our path. His name is Sean and he is a PT at Vulcan Performance in Birmingham. Jacob drives to Birmingham two days a week to work with Sean. Sean only targets Jacob’s weak side, which is his right. My jaw drops each time Sean works with Jacob. He keeps working hard and checking so many things off of his list.

“The Bull Didn’t Win”

My point of today’s post is to never stop praying. It’s been 6 years and Jacob’s running is SO much better. Don’t ever take anyone’s “this is as good as it’s going to get” or “this is all the healing you are going to do.” I love to witness God’s work and receive His blessings. It may take longer than you thought, you may get really tired, but don’t give up on anything or anyone. I am in awe of how our life has changed. We have witnessed so many miracles and WE BELIEVE we will see HIM do it again. I can testify to His goodness. God reminds me daily of four words. The bull didn’t win.

Counting My Blessings,

About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

We would love to hear from you
