“At the End of My Rope”

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

Difficult Situations

I suppose we can all agree this has been one of the most difficult years for us all. There have been so many more problems, issues, and situations we have had to deal with in 2020. I know for me, I have felt like I have been at the end of my rope day after day. I have desperately needed a new beginning for a long time now.

But If You Say So

So many times in the bible, God asks people to keep going even if it looks grim, we are tired, and nothing has happened out of all of the things we have tried. Luke 5:5 reminds us of that. “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” (NLT) I love the words “if you say so” that are said to Jesus here. This reminds me when I feel like I am at the end of my rope and I am struggling to hang on, to stop trying to control it all and to give myself grace.

Just Breathe

Let’s all start our new year giving ourselves grace when we are struggling to hang on. Think about your 2020 moments. I know the ones that have shaped me are the ones I slowed down with and allowed God to intervene and help me. So when we all are working so hard in 2021, remember to keep going at it in your struggles and think about the words, “but if you say so,” in Luke chapter 5.

About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.
