Not By My Strength
“The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.”
Psalm 33:16-17 ESV https://www.bible.com/59/psa.33.16-17.esv
Fear is such a strong feeling in our lives. We rely on so many things for our well being and safety. Our confidence in finances, jobs, family and friends, even our weapons are a false security. In the preceding verses, God’s word makes it clear that the things we depend on provide no escape. The key to winning your battles is not to rely on your own strength, but trust God.
God is Watching
“Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect Him, the ones who are looking for His love. He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times; in lean times He keeps body and soul together.”
Psalm 33:18-19 MSG https://www.bible.com/97/psa.33.18-19.msg
God is watching those who fear Him. It is similar to a young child that wants to earn the respect of a parent by obeying. God is waiting to rescue us. We need to respect Him and seek His love.
He is Our Only Hope
“Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.”
Psalms 33:20-22 NKJV https://www.bible.com/114/psa.33.20-22.nkjv
Are you trusting in Him? He is our only hope in every circumstance. Find joy in the Lord. Allow His faithful love to ‘rest’ on you. Put your hope in the Lord.
