I Will Sing Praises To Your Name
Sunday morning during the worship service, my attention was grabbed by a bird that kept flying to the window. It would hold on to the window frame and peck the window. It continued for a long time. The bird reminded me of not only God’s creation, but the fact that everything will praise Him.
As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives— the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, “saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”” Luke 19:38-40 ESV https://www.bible.com/59/luk.19.38-40.esv
Worship God
Jesus said that if His followers did not rejoice and praise Him, then the rocks would cry out in praise. In my imagination, the bird wanted to come in and worship with us. Better yet, it wanted to teach us how to worship. Of course, that is probably not the case, but it seemed like a good thought. The birds of the air, the trees and even the rocks could teach us about worship, if they could utter a sound that we could comprehend.
Worthy of Praise
Jesus is worthy of praise. Shout to the roof tops in praise of our Lord and Savior. When singing in church our worship leader, Donnie Cobb, will tell us to “grab a note and hang on”. As long as you are praising God from your heart, it doesn’t matter what note you are singing. God finds pleasure in the notes from our hearts. We might be embarrassed in church if that little bird flew in and began out- singing the congregation in praise of God.
Praise Him
No matter what you are going through right now. Praise Him. No matter how hard it is to get up and face another day. Praise Him! No matter the strain of putting one foot in front of another. Praise Him! If life is going very well for you right now, you must not forget to praise Him!
““Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”” Revelation 4:11 ESV https://www.bible.com/59/rev.4.11.esv
