Natalie Grant Clean
Am I focusing too much on myself, my sin and problems are not enough on God and who He is?
That is the question I posed in prayer last night after hammering myself for all my faults and failures as a Christian. God convicts me of sin in my life and I run with it in my mind. Feeling less like a follower of God and more like a failure. My confidence in my position with God falters as I think of the inadequacies and stumble through my life. I allow myself to question if I really have trust and faith in God. What should I do to solve this issue in my life?
Turn to the Scripture
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”1 John 1:9 ESV
The scripture says that when we admit to God our sin, then He forgives and cleanses us. DONE! There is no need to beat ourselves up over our shortcomings. To God, once we confess, then He no longer remembers. It is forgotten, we are clean!
“to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 ESV
Life and Peace
The main idea is to focus on God. Confess failures and sin, then let it go. God forgives. If we focus on the Spirit, then we have life and peace! Hallelujah!
Who doesn’t want life and peace?

Forgiven and Righteous
There are so many encouraging scriptures in the Bible. I aim to keep memorizing them and place my focus on God rather than myself. Through Christ, I am forgiven and righteous in the eyes of God.
