Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.
Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels.
Revelation 19:7-8 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Pearls for the Bride
Stringing pearls for the Bride of Christ. Pearls are to be worn as part of our bridal attire because they have been given by the Bridegroom, Himself! A gift from the depths of the sea (the vast chasm of chaos that separates us from the Father). This is what the ocean represents in Scripture and Jesus has come to walk with us on the water to His Father”s House!
Righteousness the gift
Righteousness. I believe this can be one of the most difficult concepts for humanity to grasp. Our flesh makes it about what we do; the Spirit says it is a gift from God. Christianity .com 12/16/2019 defines righteousness as, “…an attribute that belongs to God, the Lawgiver, and is manifested in His laws. No man can be justified by his own works apart from God’s ordinance. Therefore, righteousness is a wonderful gift from God to humanity through His love: it is the God-given quality imputed to man upon believing in the Son of God.” Righteousness is “being right in the eyes of God,” which we cannot be left to our own devices. We can measure up by our personal works. (Eph 2:8-10) (all emphasis mine)
Given Not Earned
Righteousness is not earned! It is GIVEN! In a great exchange that took place on Calvary, Jesus took our unrighteousness and gave us HIS righteousness. It cost Jesus His life and is not purchased by us. (more later about this). We are declared righteous by The Judge when He slams down the gavel and says: “NOT GUILTY!” No longer are we bound to sin, shame, scarcity, and so much guilt. We now are dressed not in convict clothing easily recognizable to everyone, but we are clothed in the LIGHT OF JESUS! We are now dressed for the wedding: quiet and assured of the love of Christ.
The Waiting -Engagement Period
Remember when we talked about the Bride waiting for the Bridegroom to return? Remember, she is preparing herself? What is that all about? It is NOT about becoming a bridezilla over the details of a fifteen-minute ceremony. It is about learning to live free of guilt, shame, fear, condemnation, and not-enoughness. The waiting period is to allow the heart to transform from heart of stone to heart of tenderness: to become “comfortable” in your “righteousness.” The confidence of this freedom is the power of the Holy Spirit and you realize you are considered WORTHY. You are LOVED! You are ENOUGH! The enemy can no longer keep you in doubt, fear, inferiority, and loneliness. The CREATOR of the universe hears your requests, and He protects, He sees and when we walk in this confidence our petitions avail much. (I John 3:21, I Peter 3:12, James 5:16, Hebrews 4:16)
Clothed in Righteousness
In the Garden, Adam and Eve were clothed in Light (righteousness), they were at peace and confident. Then, sin entered the Garden, and garments were required. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice of paying for our sins we once more can shed our garments that are soiled and wholly unholy and don our robes of righteousness–LIGHT, bright and white!!!
Righteousness is the works of God
Our acts of righteousness are not our acts (deeds) but the works of God, through Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit our three in one Bridegroom. Are you ready? Are you dressed yet?
