From the front porch and beyond:
Once again, I find myself called to come to sit at the table and hear. But God it’s the dry, no depth Sunday school lesson.
My Father says: Sit down, take the book and my Bible.
Me: It’s just talking about Obeying.
My Father: Do you know what obey means in my Hebrew language? Dig!
Me and google: what does obey mean in Hebrew?
Google: there is no word for obey in Hebrew.
Me: Whaat?
Google: The word is shema (pronounced shemah). Shema to hear, evaluate, understand, to make a choice
Me and google: what’s the English word for shema?
There’s not one!
Me: What??? Why have we been taught that?
HE smiles; “Gotcha!
God: Dig
As I continue digging, I come across the words: ”Shema Lovet Halak”
Halak -to move
Shema Lovet– hearing heart
Heavenly Father, teach me to have a hearing heart that moves accordingly to your perfect will and way. Teach me to dig deeper for who you are.
In Jesus Christ’s powerful name. Amen.
