Grandmother did you pray

From the front porch and beyond: Grandmother’s Prayers

Let me hear your voice

Coming Memorial Weekend Thoughts

It’s that season of cleaning up and refreshing the ancestral graves. Honoring those who when before us.

I know life was extremely difficult and life so different.

Great Grandmother’s Prayers

I sit at Great Grandmother’s grave looking and wondering: “Did you pray for me and your grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

Prayers for grandchildren

Great Grandmother’s

Did you wonder what life would hold for us and put a hedge around us and ask God to cover us?

I never heard my grandmother or great-grandmother pray.  Neither can I  remember a discussion with either of my grandmothers that pertained to God and his love. I do remember going to church with both.

My Grandmotherly Prayers

Consequently, I want that to change for my grands. I want them to know Dee(Grandma) prayed and loved to be with and talk about Jesus. I want them to know they can call Dee and she will stop what she is doing and pray for their hearts’ longings and concerns.

Your prayers for future generations?

Have you considered how important your prayers are to your grands and great grands?

What have you prayed for your future grandson and granddaughter in-laws?

Have you prayed for their fathers and mothers?

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for my grandparents and great-grandparents. Thank you that even now you are using them to pursue me to walk closer to you.

Father, Pursue my grandchildren, my future grandson in-laws and granddaughter in-laws, their parents and sibling, write your words on their hearts, guide, guard, and protect them.

Help them to open to being caught by you and let them be hungry for more of you.

Let even now heaven and earth rejoice at your glorious plans and provision for each one.

Do these things according to your perfect will and way acceptable to your work in our lives In Jesus Christ’s powerful name. Amen
