“Smiling Is A Big Deal”
“A happy heart makes the face cheerful.” Proverbs 15:13 (NIV)
Do you wake up grumpy and miss most of the blessing the morning brings? Many of us do with all of the hustle and bustle day to day. Smiling can be a huge strength for all of us. I listened to a podcast that touched on how people who smile are less likely to get sick, it can lower your blood pressure, it is a stress reliever, improves your mood, helps you live a longer life, and it makes you more “good-looking.”
My sunday school class just did a lesson entitled, “Smile.” We discussed what kind of impression or feeling do you get from someone who doesn’t smile? Also, you never know what another person is going through. So your smile might be exactly what they needed that day! Life is really tough sometimes and you might find it impossible to smile.
The podcast also talked about when you are lying in bed at night and you feel like everything is headed south, to put a smile on your face and let out some laughter. It’s in times like this, you know your smile comes from someone much bigger than you! We all have times like this, but guess what, we get through them. So, “Smiling Is a Big Deal!”
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12 (NIV)
Now that’s something to smile about!
Counting My Blessings,
