Nothing is to big for God

Nothing To Big For God

Jeremiah 32:26-27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

SHOCK

Nothing had prepared me for what I would witness as I walked into the ICU unit. NOTHING! How could this be? What had I missed? Why, God? It looked hopeless. Small, frail, in excruciating pain, breathing shallow, confused, lashing out verbally, (heavily medicated) pale as a ghost, curled into a fetal position, in shock, and at the edge of the precipice of hell and death according to the monitors recording signs of life. I feared ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome due to sepsis) with good reason!

The gravity of the situation did not escape me. A God size miracle was required. My emotions were so raw my mind could not even form a complete sentence in prayer. Tears welled and spilled. I felt the enemy’s hands tighten around my neck and I could hardly breathe……….

AWE

The scripture from Romans 8:26-27 came softly creeping into my thoughts: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Yep, I needed the Spirit within me to do all the interceding for I was speechless, numb, and without a clue of where my prayer should begin. I was weary, and the groaning of my heart did not have an adequate vocabulary.

Surrender

Have you ever been to this place? This is the place of surrender. When the flood of reality sweeps over you and you know ONLY GOD can turn this situation around and if He does not, it will be the beginning of the end. I have been here before: more than once. The experience NEVER improves. No control. No wisdom. No words. Just the inability to breathe. But God……

Here is where our God steps in and does the impossible. He rewires a brain. He breaks a chain. He raises the dead. He humbles. He restores. He heals. He redeems. He breathes new life into a soul. He shows THERE IS NOTHING TO BIG OR HARD FOR HIM!

Hope

As I robotically lived through the next days, these were the verses used to infuse hope into my veins flowing with doubt and fear. I exhaled. I was able to move forward despite the fact nothing I say or do would change anything. I opened my hands and gave all into His mighty hands. My question is rephrased. No longer, “Why God?” It is now, “What are You doing for my good and Your glory in this and every situation?”

Father, let us hear the words:

Well Done by The Afters

Because we had faith enough to trust Your heart when we could not see Your mighty hand working on our behalf. This is our humble prayer. In Jesus name, let it be so.

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!

I am sure many will relate to this testimony. Few have the words to describe the pain and horror. Sharing this gut wrenching experience gives others hope in our Lord as you shared your surrender. May God bless you with peace, joy and strength. May he heal your loved ones. 🙏
