“Made for More”

“Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” Ephesians 1:11 (NLT)

In some of the messiest parts of my life, I can remember how quickly panic came crashing in. I can also remember how I always got through the mess and who brought me through it every single time. My bible study class just finished the video series, “Grace of God and Flaws of Men,” by Anand Mahadevan. In session 5, Anand tells us that God’s mission is for everyone to know him.

Why?

One question I always hear over and over is, “Why does God allow things to happen to us?” I always respond with the same answer so many others do. God always has a plan. There is a purpose for our pain. We can’t see it full circle from where we are sitting, but God does. I think Anand said it pretty well in session 5 when he stated, “there is benefit of others in our suffering.” I really believe we can bless others in our suffering by allowing others to see how we trust and have hope in our suffering. No matter where you are in your life, the choices you have made, the people who have hurt you, or if you are on the longest ride of the worst part of your life, just remember, you were made for more! You were made for God’s glory and you have a purpose. There is always a lesson or a purpose in all of our experiences.

You Made a Difference

So in your quiet time today, think of a time you consider the messiest part of your life. Did someone say to you how much of an impact you made in their life? Did someone say you were an inspiration to them? Or did they say how much you helped them get through a tough time in their life just by witnessing how you dealt with your pain? That’s missions!

“But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.” 1 Corinthians 15:10 (NLT)

About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18. My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

We would love to hear from you
