“When You Take It All In”
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 (NIV)
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
There are definitely moments in my life which have emphasized the importance of keeping my eyes peeled and taking notice of all that is around me. Taking to heart things I have learned through heartbreaking experiences and heart overflowing experiences helps me to “take it all in” everyday.
Live Like It Is Your Last Day
Losing my mom and almost losing my son was a heartbreaking experience, but this experience taught me so much through my pain. It has taught me to really invest in others and make sure they know how important they are and how much I love them. Having my first grandchild, Nixon Lyn, was certainly a heart overflowing experience. Nixon Lyn fills me up everytime I lay my eyes on her. She reminds me to “take it all in.” When I spend time with her, she gets ALL of her SuSu. My time with her is spent like it is my last day on earth.
Today
So today, we all have to find our new normal. For me, I am at home doing online teaching. It is not at all the same as teaching in my classroom. It is such a change, but I still get to show my students how important they are. I get to put my spin online teaching through my videos and make my students smile. There are so many positives to our new normal. We all get to see more of our families. We get the opportunity to show others just how important they are by spending our time with them.
I don’t know about you, but my days go much faster than I want them to. So keep your eyes peeled and take notice of all that is around you. Give people your time and make them a priority. Pray and ask God to give you a heart of wisdom and direction to “take it all in” and make your days count.
