History Orchestrated

Pregnant Moms

Luke 1:45  “Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

Jeremiah 32:17  Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and earth by Your great power and outstretched arm.  There is nothing too hard for You.

Isaiah 7:14.  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

History orchestrated as God knit two babies together in their mothers wombs will change the world.  (Psalm 139:13-14).

Expectations

Elizabeth is expecting a child, just as Gabriel told Zacharias she would be.  Mary is expecting and has left Nazareth for Jerusalem to visit her cousin because Gabriel has told her Elizabeth has conceived in her old age as proof “with God nothing will be impossible.” Did Mary go to see for herself?  Was Mary needing confirmation or was she going to assist her cousin?  What we do know is that Scripture proves babies can hear in the womb, feel emotion, and know when God is present.  The child (in the six month of gestation) within Elizabeth heard and jumped for joy because he recognized his Messiah’s presence.

Elizabeth, a woman past child bearing years, is then filled with the Holy Spirit and begins praising Mary–a child.  She knows somehow in the depth of her soul that Mary is the virgin mother of the long awaited Messiah of Israel.  How does she know?  The Holy Spirit revealed this to her just as He reveals truth to us today.  Zacharias has not spoken a word since his encounter with Gabriel.  Elizabeth was not visited by Gabriel.  Her pregnancy was a spectacular surprise to her!!  She has no idea she carries a son.  (Women did not learn to read in her day so old Zach could not write her a note!)

Filled Up

The baby, John, yet unborn is filled with the Holy Spirit!  Elizabeth, John’s mom is filled with the Holy Spirit, and after John is born, Zacharias, the priest his father, is filled with the Holy Spirit.   Mary has been overshadowed by the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit gave gifts:  Word of wisdom, knowledge, faith, exhortation, prophecy, and love. (I Corinthians 12:8-10, 14:1,3)

Listen to the words of Elizabeth to Mary:  “Blessed are you among women, and blessed IS the fruit of your womb!  But WHY is it granted to me, that the MOTHER OF MY LORD should come to me? For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy!”   (Luke 1:42-44)

Blessed

Then, without Mary even sharing with her the encounter she had with Gabriel, Elizabeth calls her blessed again!  Blessed because she believed God and because she believed there will be fulfillment of God’s plan.  Elizabeth recognized the power of believing God in Mary’s life at such a young age.

Deep and Wide

What often seems like an insignificant sentence in Scripture is much like an iceberg.  All we see is not all that is there.  The unseen is deep, wide, and full.  Such is this sentence:  Because Mary believed there WAS fulfillment of ALL the Lord shared with her.

Promises

Do you believe God?  Has God told you something that seems impossible?  Believe it!  Cling to it!  Go to others who will also believe it and encourage your heart.  It is in our believing God that He fulfills His Promises, for “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”  (Luke 18:27)  Jesus told Thomas it is easy to believe what you can see.  Then, He said, “Blessed are those who HAVE NOT SEEN and yet Believe!”  (John 20:29, emphasis mine)

Miracles

So, we have two mothers.  One old and having a miracle baby.  The other is really young and carries a baby by immaculate conception.  Two miracles inside two women will change this world forever.  The promise God made to Eve is about to be made visible.  Everything is in place for the serpent’s head to be crushed.  (Genesis 3:15) History orchestrated as God knit two babies together in their mother’s wombs.  (Psalm 139:13-14)

About Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: "big" sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven's gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait. Scriptures number one admonition is "fear not." Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to "tread water til Jesus comes." Something my students often thought I was going to make them do! So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!

How can one not believe? Thank You Lord for every child you have and will create! Show us ways to protect the unborn and those that make it into this world. Be with parents/ family who have lost their children , and those that are losing them to the evil around them. We praise You as the Almighty Creator and the Mighty One who has the power over evil. In Jesus’ powerful and merciful name! Amen
