Yvonne Jones

I am at heart, a LIFEguard: “big” sister, mama, grandmother, aunt, friend, swimming coach, lifeguard trainer, and registered nurse. I am in the business of alleviating fear through education and lots of hand holding. As a swimming instructor, I have taught people of all ages to overcome fear of the water and I marvel as fear gives way to fearlessness, as panic turns to pure joy, as tears dissolve into giggles of glee, and pennies retrieved from the bottom of the abyss become trophies. As a nurse, I have been privileged to walk up to Heaven’s gate as patients and family are welcomed home, witnessed the miracle of birth, helped mend broken hearts, and cared for the elderly as they wait.

Scriptures number one admonition is “fear not.” Question is HOW??? The Word becomes our swimming instructor and can help us learn to “tread water til Jesus comes.” Something my students often thought I was going to make them do!

So welcome to my pool! Jump in the cool water. Let it refresh your soul and feel the unseen hands of the Master Lifeguard lift you up and out of the deep water. Who knows, you just might even walk on water!

Hi Yvonne, I know you’re a prayer warrior and Mike and I need prayers from anyone that you can rally. Mike posted in his campaign bio that he is a Christian and believes marriage to be between a man and woman. Since that Mike and I have received numerous attacks on our character. A man, Steven Strickland, follows us around taking photos and videos of us and continues to smear our name online in social media. I know that this kind of persecution is mild compared to the real persecution going on elsewhere but we were unprepared for how vicious folks can be. Please pray for guidance for us as well as a compassionate heart for those that are doing this.
    Thank you in advance,
    Melissa Daugherty

I have to say that it must have been divine intervention that I received your sweet gift of treats today on my porch. It has been a very discouraging today for me as my spirit has felt broken with some things happening in my family and with my work. Your thoughtfulness to reach out really lifted my spirits and reminded me that we are all just ‘treading water’ waiting on the return of our Savior. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and the reminded and what’s truly important. I will read the daily devotional and enjoy your wonderful treats. Have a blessed evening.

    Yvonne,

I am starting a Missionary Society that goes to the frontlines of battle to share the power of God. I saw your post of the Centurion at the cross and am wondering if I could buy or obtain rights to use that picture for my ministry’s page.

Your page is perfect by the way. Overcoming fear and pushing on in faith with Christ becomes the only way to live.

    Bless you sister.

All of you are doing an amazing job of putting yourselves and your knowledge on this blog. I have read some, but not all. I do plan however to continue reading your (in its entirety) blog. Thanks for sharing. People associate with personal stories, in my opinion, more than just quoting because they are able to relate your stories to things in their lives. Hope this is helpful. Love you all and look forward to continuing to be blessed by your words
