From the front porch and beyond:
What is the thing you think you just have to live?
Sharing Difficult Times
A friend shared a difficulty they were struggling with and working on recently.
My self-sufficient friend and I talked of the struggle and the knowledge it was an issue, they would probably have to live with. We were interrupted and the conversation ended.
After getting home it hit me, one reason we are good friends is that we think alike. We put others before ourselves and fail to lay our needs before the Lord. We think our needs are minimal and we can handle the discomfort.
But why should we?
Why are we not laying everyday issues before the Lord?
Why are we not trusting him with our needs?
He will either heal it or He will carry it!
Let Jesus Carry Your Burdens
We are not self-sufficient. We have no power. He does not mean for us to deal with things. We suffer needlessly because we choose our power over HIS.
Take time to lay your personal issues before our Heavenly Father! Ask him, He is waiting to make a way.
John 5:6 “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
Jesus is bigger and a better tower to run to!
Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you are our strong and mighty tower. We can run to you and lay our needs before you; you will answer in wisdom, grace, and mercy according to your will.
Forgive us when we try to carry our own problems and burdens, not trusting that no matter what the problem is you will gladly take it. Forgive us for not remembering you are a loving God that plans good for us for your glory.
In Jesus Christ’s powerful name.
Amen
