From the front porch and beyond:
Bleacher, Lawn chair, and Pew Friends.
We all have them and we all take the moments our lives touch for granted.
You know the people you spend a season with, in the bleachers at the ball field, gymnastics, basketball, ballet and you pass them at church.
You talk, laugh, maybe cry, and maybe there was some anger with them for a short season, but somehow, some way they are always there in the back of your mind. Secured in memories of seasons gone by.
Maybe, you pass each other and wave at church or the grocery store.
Recently, I encountered a story of one of these people, our life’s touch in a glance, short encounters, and brief moments.
I was heartbroken at their story and the accident that had occurred. There were doubts, that we would ever have those moments, again, and if we did, would they know who they were seeing?
Prayer is our best resource
I, immediately, when to my Heavenly Father as many others did asking for His help.
I reached out through messenger to let them know they were in our prayers and thoughts.
Days and weeks passed and the information we were receiving was not good. Prayers continued.
Yesterday’s news was that the journey would be a very long journey, with many mountains to cross. Tears fell. Prayers continued.
God is Faithful
Today, I received a message from them!
The journey is still a struggle, but our God is faithful!
Life is short. Take note of your bleacher, lawn chair, and pew friends.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the wonderful, amazing people you created and share with us.
Help us never take for granted those shared moments.
Help us to share your love and grace in each.
Let each of us be able to look back in wonder at the bleacher, lawn chair, and pew moments knowing that you blessed us with these times.
Amen
