About Debbie Kendrick

I am not a writer or teacher, just a woman that God has walked with; giving her undeserved love, peace, guidance, and grace in a world full of heartache. My goal and calling are to encourage those I encounter during each season of life. I hope these words will encourage you in your journey, and make you know your Savior loves you, hears, and sees you.

Anatomy of the body of Christ

From the front porch and beyond:

The anatomy of Christ’s body

How did it take me this long?
How did it take me so long to realize that I am a little piece of tendon?

A little piece of connective tissue in the body of Christ.
Not a foot or a hand.
Not an ear or an eye.
Not the liver or the kidneys.
We can’t all be organs!

Tissue that supports protects, and gives structure to other tissues and organs in the body. Connective tissue also stores fat, (I have this covered) helps move nutrients and other substances between tissues and organs and helps repair damaged tissue.

That’s me! I store information, support, encourage, and help to move information from one area to another in the body of Christ.

I have friends that are soles of the feet of the body of Christ- they have callouses from meeting the needs of others.

I have friends that are the vocal cords, they speak for the body and breath for the body.

I have friends that are eyes, they see things and translate the need.

You get the picture.
Me?
I’ve tried being other parts of the body, but I just didn’t fit.
But God uses me to encourage movement. He stores information that connects and supports the movement of other parts of the body.
I am not exactly sure where in the body of Christ, I am.
Maybe I am helping to connect the big toe and giving balance.

What part are you?

1 Corinthians 12:12
New Living Translation
One Body with Many Parts

12 The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.
