Your Impossible
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NLT)
Reachable
What does the word impossible mean? By the word impossible in the dictionary, it says not able to occur, exist, or be done. There are so many things that fall into the “impossible” category. There are numerous things I can’t do by myself, but if I have someone to help me, the task is reachable. For example, I am not super strong and certainly couldn’t lift a couch or piece of furniture by myself, but if I brought my husband and son in, they could help me.
What If
Isn’t this the same with God? When we face the impossible and the things that can’t be done alone, what if we invited the Lord in? What if we asked for his help with our things that can’t be done? Or, What if we didn’t try to do it all ourselves. What if we didn’t try to do it our way?
How It’s Done
My son, Jacob, has striven to reach unrealistic goals. Even though he uses the word unrealistic plenty of times, he has met every unrealistic goal he has set or other’s have said where not reachable. He didn’t do it alone. Jacob did it with much prayer, defeat over and over again but not giving up, and with others beside him who won’t let him quit. He found out quickly who needed to be on his team.
Ultimately, having the Lord on your team, especially in our impossible situations that come, gives us all the strength we need to meet the unrealistic and impossible things we face. Are there things in your life today that seem impossible or can’t be done? I urge you first to pray about your impossible and change your thinking. Put God right in the middle of your impossible.
