The King is in the field

“The King is in the field”. Elul, the sixth month of the Jewish calendar.

I am learning about finding King Jesus as the bridegroom in Song of Songs. Our recent study in Song of Songs, opened my heart and my mind to many new truths. Song of Songs is not just a love story but it is the love story of God and His bride.

WE are His bride, individually and corporately.

Growing up my mom always reminded us that Israel was God’s chosen people and Jerusalem was the home where one day Jesus would return and reign. I have been interested in learning about Jewish cultures during Jesus time. We have so westernized the Bible that we miss much of the meanings.

One interesting thing I have been studying is their calendar and the meanings behind their months and celebrations of their feasts. From August 20,2020 through September 18,2020 on the Jewish calendar is the month of Elul. Elul means “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine.” Paul writes in Romans 11:33, “Oh the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God.”

We have barely scratched the surface of God’s wisdom and knowledge! I have been a Christian from a very young age and I still know so little of what God’s Word has for me!

Understanding the “days of Elul”

I believe that in these last days, God is opening up revelations for understanding deeper things of God. They are not “new” revelations, they have been there all along. But God is removing blinders so that we can learn more. The more we learn about His Word, His character, and His ways the better equipped we will be for these days.

I found this video Saturday that explains what the month of Elul is about. I hope you will take 21 minutes to sit quietly listening with an open heart. You will be blessed to see just how much the bridegroom Jesus is longing to give you an audience. I promise you will leave with a deeper appreciation of God’s love for you personally!
