About Paula Wallace

A child of God, wife, mother and grandmother of 6 precious children. I love art, nature and treasure my dear friends. Through the valleys and mountaintops, God led me to His saving grace at the age of 32. Since then the valleys and mountaintops have proven His love to me. I am learning to trust Him in all things. My prayer is that you, too, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and trust Him. The Bible verse that I lean on mostly is Proverbs 3: 5-6 “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”NKJV Paula Wallace

Memorial Day is set aside for all Americans to remember the ultimate sacrifice that men and women have given. They gave their lives for our freedom as a country and a people. Take time on this day to thank God for the ones who died for us.

The Riderless Horse is representative of a fallen soldier. The picture of the riderless horse sends a stark reminder of the person who will never ride again. The one who died and will not return home to his or her family. The horse is decorated. The boots are turned backward as it follows the caisson of the fallen soldier. Arlington’s Ceremonial Horses and Funerals make a great read on the traditions of burial.

The Risen Savior

Philippians 2:8, “He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death – even to death on the cross.” CSB

As I think of ultimate sacrifices, we must be most thankful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who voluntarily gave His life for our freedom and eternal salvation. The cross is empty and symbolizes the life He gave for you and me. One huge difference is that Christ returned and rose again to assure His followers that there is hope in eternal life for those who believe and are His followers.

Remember and Be Thankful

Let us remember the fallen soldiers. Be thankful on this day of remembrance. Be thankful and pray for the families who have given up their loved ones for the life we lead. Also, praise God for giving His Son. The horse is riderless and the cross is empty. So thankful!
