About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

The Path

The Paths

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”1 Peter 5:10 (NLT)

Counting My Blessing

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

“Against All Odds”

The paths my life has taken me the last several years have definitely not been that paths I would have chosen or what I expected. Life has been full of hardships, pain, curveballs, setbacks, and heartbreak. Life has also taken us down a path of success and Jacob has had many moments full of accomplishments and he was able to do it against all odds. As a mom, I couldn’t be more proud or have planned Jacob’s path right now out any better than God has. I’ve learned to not panic when the odds stack up against him because God always shows up and shows us what he is capable of when we trust Him.

What Does the Future Hold

What does the future hold for me as a mom? As I wrap up my 25th year teaching, I’m wrapping it up writing a book with my son! We just did our first podcast! It was super scary but also, so much fun.  We want to encourage others who are going through life changing seasons, to walk through these moments with a heart of hope. Sometimes it’s a slow process, but God sends His bursts of blessings and scatters them throughout the years of waiting and suffering.
