About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

God’s Goodness and Power

God’s Goodness and Power

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!

His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His faithful love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1-3 (NLT)

Writing It Down

Almost 6 years ago, a friend brought me a journal while I was in the hospital with my son, Jacob. As I sat beside Jacob, praying for him to wake up from his coma, I slid my hand across this light blue journal and found myself quickly opening it to write down all I was experiencing. Writing in this journal helped me get all I was feeling out on this blue lined paper and brought me to the place I desperately need to be.

Seeing His Goodness

What I didn’t know at the time was what this light blue journal would mean to me much later. As I read from the very first page to the very last page, I was able to see “God’s Goodness and Power” from day one. Now when I read my journal, I am able to see His goodness! You see, as we go about our days, it is easy to get pulled in to our day to day responsibilities and forget to remember His goodness and all the ways God helps us in our desperate times and in all of our times.

A Good Reminder

Do you have a way to remember God’s goodness and power? We do not all need a journal, but anytime I need a reminder, my journal is a good one. My journal always draws me back to what’s true, and what’s true is that God is good and powerful.

Counting My Blessings,

Susan Browder
