About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

Fighting the Real Pain

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT)

fighting the real pain

Jesus helps us fight our pain

Something we are all going to feel many times throughout our lives is “real pain.” The real pain is one of the most intense, overwhelming, and frightening things to experience. Over my life, I have noticed that God has given me a special tool to fight this real pain. He has given this to us all who believe. Knowing Jesus, helps us fight the real pain the world throws at us.

Fighting Power to overcome fear

Relying on God to help me fight the real pain, has made Him so much bigger in my life. It has given me self-control and prevented me from spiraling. Living in a world where there is so much pain and concern with everything that surrounds us, it is difficult not to have fear. I remember a particular day when I prayed for something I feared. I also remember what the Holy Spirit replaced my fear with. Fear was replaced with a fighting power standing beside me.

Let bravery and strength replace fear

So don’t miss out on one of God’s many gifts to us all! Let bravery and strength rise up in you instead of fear. Remember, He is in control. Don’t let your mind spiral and your thoughts get you running scared. Be encouraged every day because God is right there with you as you are fighting the real pain.
