About Susan Browder

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”  Hebrews 11:1 I grew up in a small town in Alabama called Boligee. I am a wife and a mom to two sons, Nick who is 24 and married to his sweet wife, Mallory, and Jacob who is 18.  My husband, Nicky, is a person of who I am so proud. Our lives changed forever on September 6, 2014 about 7:00 pm. Our son, Jacob, had an accident that would deeper our faith in God and challenge us in ways we never dreamed. My prayer is that our story will encourage others in their struggles with life altering experiences. My writing will be our testimonies but more than that it is about how we have a loving, caring God that carries us through the most difficult times of our lives.

Reflections over Coffee

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6. (NLT)

Morning Coffee

Have you ever had one of those days you wished you could trade lives with someone? This could be your selection of anyone in the world. Take your pick of the most loved celebrities, friends that seem to have it all, family members, or your neighbor with the perfect family, house, and yard. You just sit there and drift off imagining your life very different than it really is.

Coffee Makes Me Happy

I developed a love for organic coffee this past summer. I guess my tastes buds have changed with age because I really have always thought it was just the most terrible tasting cup of liquid on the planet. But one thing I have discovered about drinking coffee is it makes me happy. I love to read my bible and drink coffee. It is such a peaceful way to start my day.

Reflections on My Blessings

My cup of coffee in the morning is the longest drink of my day. Normally it takes me about 30 minutes to drink one cup. Early in the morning, as a I sip, it helps me lose sight of the fast paced world I am about to step into. It allows me the time to reflect on my blessings and to recognize God has walked with me “all the places life has taken me.” That is one powerful cup of coffee each day.

Peaceful Moments Where Blessings Unfold

So if I ever find myself imagining my life differently, my heart reminds me I wouldn’t trade my life for anyones. “All the places life has taken me” has made me the kind of person I am today. Some of the places have been mountain tops, but many of them have been bumpy and off course, but I finally figured out how to stay on the right road. Putting God right next to me allows me to see some remarkable places in my life. Find your “cup of coffee” moment of the day and allow it to create peaceful moments where your blessings can unfold before your eyes.
