Strength from above

“Strength from Above”

Life happens

Have you ever went through a time when the circumstances of your life had drained every ounce of your strength? A couple of years ago, our oldest son, who had been battling cancer, took a turn for the worst. His breathing had grown so serious, we had to bring him to the hospital. After several test, the Doctor informed us that he only had about one-third of his left lung working, because pneumonia was filling up this lung and the cancer had closed off the other one. We were also told they did not believe he would leave the hospital and would only have a few days to live.

Strength gone

Our strength had already been stretched to the limit in caring for him over the last couple of months as his health grew worse. My husband and I began to swap out the hours at the hospital, so he would always have one of us with him. On a Thursday night, it was my time to come and stay with our precious son, even though I could barely put one foot in front of the other. About 3:00, he fell asleep so I dragged myself out into the hall and down to the exit door. With such extreme exhaustion, I rested my head on the window, and began to pray. “Father, I am so weary and so tired. I cannot go on without your help.” To which He began to remind me that “my strength was in Him, alone!”

Father assures us of help

(Is. 41:10) “So do not fear, for I AM with you; do not be dismayed, for I AM your God, I Will strengthen you, I WILL help you; I Will hold you with My righteous right hand.”He also told me that when I was weak, He was strongest. Yes, even strong enough to carry me through anything. Also, He reminded me He had sent “ Angels of Grace “ to help us through this difficult time.  At this time, I became very aware that I was not alone in fact, there was a large group of angels standing behind me. Then, an amazing thing happened pair of strong hands slipped under my arms and lifted me to an upright standing position. At the same time, major strength and energy filled my body, the extreme weariness disappeared in a miraculous moment. I began to giggle out loud in thanksgiving.

“Thank you, thank you, Dear Father! You have heard my cry for help and You have given me “Your Strength from Above“. (Ex. 15:2) “Lord, you are my strength and my song, and you give me the victory.”

Rejoicing in the Lord’s strength,
