What’s your Goliath

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7 (ESV)

A few years ago, I was all wrapped up in my own little world of trusting that I could do it all. I was worn out. Trying to control and turn my life problems and situations around kept me very busy.

I am a fixer. I want everyone to overcome any situation they are in.  It severely hurts and rips my heart into pieces when I see someone I dearly love in pain or struggling through life.  But when I read and think about what Psalm 20:7 means, I remember one of the most valuable things that I carry with me everyday. When I  encounter my “Goliath” moments, four huge words scream inside my head. “Trust in the Lord.”

“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)

Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7 (ESV)

God knows it all. He knows each and every struggle. What I have loved most about my journey is this: With every terrifying Goliath moment, I survived!  With every Goliath, I was all right every time. I got through the process and learned what I needed to learn from it. What’s your Goliath? Whatever it is, just  know that God will always have your back and be for you. You only need to trust him. So, who is better in handling my circumstances? Certainly not me. I am going to trust the One who knows how many hairs are on my head and who knows every detail of my life.
