The Bull Didn’t Win

In Awe Moments

This past Thursday, Jacob and I launched our book, “The Bull Didn’t Win.” Who would have ever thought, after being told on September 6, 2014, Jacob had a TBI and his prognosis was not good, I would be co-authoring a book with him? During this time, this was absolutely something I could not see happening. The only words I know to describe our book launch last Thursday is, I was in awe. It was everything we had hoped for and more! As I drove off from the event, I ugly cried.

God sees ahead of us

It just goes to prove, God sees the way ahead of what we see when we are struggling, fighting, and butting heads with our “bulls.” He knows what’s around the corner and what’s waiting for us as we continue to trust Him. To see so many people from Demopolis, surrounding towns, our publisher from Wyoming flew in, and out-of-state friends, all coming out to support us was so touching.

Motivating Me

To say I am extremely grateful for the healing I have witnessed is an understatement. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about how I have seen God use what was meant for evil and used it for his glory. This is extremely powerful and motivates me when I need to be motivated or inspired. Lately, I have also noticed Jacob stepping out of his comfort zone and speaking about our book, and even preparing devotionals to share. I witnessed him doing a devotional the other day and he shared it on social media. It was from the book of Luke.

“Master,” Simon replied, “We worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking. Luke 5:5-7 (NLT)

Keep putting your nets back out

Jacob related this to his recovery after his injury. He said, “So basically they have fished all day and caught nothing, and a disciple says, but we will do it again. There were a lot of times in my recovery where I kept working, but didn’t see any progress, but I never gave up. I felt like Jesus was rooting for me and he was always on my side. Then, little by little, life started coming back together for me, and my net started overflowing. So I encourage you today to keep putting your nets back out there and see what you bring up!” (Jacob Browder)

Much More in Awe Moments

This was another “in awe” moment. I have said countless times, Jacob has taught me much more than I have ever taught him, and that still continues today. It just goes to show you, when you give someone else, Jesus, the steering wheel, things move in directions that seem impossible. The road we were taken down, taught my family so many things. So here we are, almost 7 years later, and we are on the other side of that day on September 6, 2014. If you are struggling or have struggled and need a faith builder, read our book. It is also a great reminder of how important prayer is. We believed and we received!

Counting My Blessings,
