Grandchild- I Can Hardly Wait
“Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.” Proverbs 17:6 (NLT)
Waiting for “Grand” baby
This July I will gain a granddaughter. My First! I can hardly wait… My child is having a child. My children have been such a tremendous gift to me. They are my pride. I love them beyond words I can express.
Countless people who have grandchildren say the exact same words to me. They tell me having a grandchild is like no other love. It is a different experience.
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” 1 John 3:1
Waiting with wonder
I am on sitting on the edge of my seat until July. The waiting is complete torture. Everytime I see a little girl, I catch myself wondering, “What is Nixon going to look like?” ‘“What color are her eyes and hair?” So many things flood my mind. I get this feeling like I did as a child waiting for Santa. I wonder so many things about her, especially about what God has in store for her.
So please come on July! I am so ready for the experience of being Nixon’s “Gram.” I can’t wait to I look into her eyes and tell her how much I love her. I can’t wait to watch her sleep and just stare at her in awe.
“But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.” Deuteronomy 4:9 (NLT)
