I’m Bleeding

 

“HELP! I’m bleeding”, was the cry I heard from the bedroom. My granddaughter is learning to shave her legs and she cut the skin off the bone in the front of her leg. It bled profusely and stung badly. How I remember the days of learning to shave and moving the razor in the wrong directions. Ouch! Makes me squirm to think about it.

Looking for Answers in All the Wrong Places

The Bible tells us of a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. Twelve long years I’m sure is how she felt. She sought help from many doctors. She went from one place to another hoping for an answer to her problem. They were glad to take her money, but she received no answer. I imagine she tried all kinds of remedies they suggested in those days. All of the doctors were unable to help her.

Are You Bleeding?

.How many of you are bleeding? Not the visible cut or scrape, but bleeding within. You are going through something that has your heart aching and tears flowing The bleeding doesn’t stop. Sometimes it is worse than other times. You may seek help from friends or family. Oftentimes, we are willing to just unload on a stranger. Time has gone by and you are still bleeding.

Learn to Trust Him

Only our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, can permanently stop the bleeding of your heart. I wish I could say it was easy and simple. We must learn to trust God and lean on Him.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

Why Are You Bleeding?

God lets us know that we should tell Him everything. What is hurting you? Why are you bleeding within? God will not erase the circumstances immediately. He will not take away the memories. He will give you peace that guards your heart and mind. The word supplication suggests an intense earnestness. We are to fully transfer the circumstance into God’s hands.

Think About Things of God

If we would fully trust God, knowing He is in control, it will keep us from nagging anxiety. Or to put it in context today, will stop the bleeding. The Bible in Philippians 4:8-9 tells us to think about things that are lovely and true and pure. Allow the words of God to continue to flow through your mind.

The Hem of His Garment

I have lost a lot of blood through the years. Praise God I am not anemic. When I keep my eyes on Him, the bleeding stops. When I focus on the circumstances around me, I bleed profusely.

Trust Him. Reach for the hem of His garment. Allow Him to stop the bleeding!
