The Source of Love

Love is the most powerful force in the world. That is how we overcome – through love- God’s love. God’s love is not weak or feeble, but full of power and might.

Martin Luther King said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” God is the source of love. God’s love overcomes evil.

“The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭145:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/psa.145.8.esv

Be Like God

In all our relationships, especially when we encounter great difficulties, be like God. We are, as Christians, to imitate the character of God. Show love and compassion to others.

Love Anyway

You may not agree with someone, but love them anyway. They may say or comment something mean and hateful in person or on Facebook, love them anyway. Their lifestyle may not meet your approval, love them anyway.

“All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power,” Psalm‬ ‭145:10-11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/59/psa.145.10-11.esv

Remember

Often in the scriptures we are told or reminded to remember what God has done. Remember what He did for His people in the Old Testament. Remember what He has done for you in your life. Remember that He sent His Son to die for you.

Speak

Psalm 145:11 tells us to speak or tell others all He has done for you. Only love can drive out hate. How awesome would it be if we would flood our conversations with the love of God. It is so easy to be talking with a friend and fall into the pit of despair. My husband doesn’t please me, my church isn’t what I want it to be, my state and country are failing, my children need to change. We can chase that rabbit a long time, but how long or often do we speak about God and how great He has been in our life!

“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness.
