Memorial September 11, 2001

I remember where I was when I got the news.  Driving into work at a local nursing home.  The next few hours found staff glued to TV monitors and the air was heavy and electric.  The residents began to pick up on the atmosphere and since all residents had televisions in their rooms the constant replay left them frightened as many suffered from dementia.  But one thing these octogenarians remembered was the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the crash of the stock market and the assassination of a president..  Within hours the behaviors of elderly changed from docile to an anger they did not fully understand.  What they knew despite mental decline was our country was once again, forever changed.  The heart of an American is always present and rallies to the cries of fellow Americans..

Today as we remember, may we be thankful for the lives lost, the bravery of the victims of the attacks, and the courage of all the first responders.   Pray for the families left behind for their grief has not ended and never will this side of heaven.

May the Lord of Heaven Bless America

2 Chronicles 7:14  King James Version (KJV)

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
