Honoring Mother

Honor your mother while you can.

Honoring Mom

Honoring my mom by caring for the last days of her life here was a blessing I would not have missed.  It was an honor for my sisters and I to care for her.  She felt loved, secure and safe for those 33 days she was here.  I would like to believe the Lord gave her favor for all the years of faith she lived out. Our Lord lived 33 years and paid the price that we might live eternally with him. That’s one day with us for every year Christ walked on this earth.

She came to our home during the season of Rosh Hashanah, the season  Jesus would celebrate a new beginning.  The time when He might fulfill His return and take His bride home…. My mom was here for such a time as this to help us work through so many things. Sorrow, regrets and repentance.

She passed on Yom Kippor, the most holy of days in the Jewish calendar.  The day of atonement when all our sin was wiped away and we were given a new start.

Our God is in the details of our lives.  Down to the moment He fulfills ALL the details.

Mom’s Mischief

My mom love mischief.  We girls never liked this picture.  We love and adore it now.  Goldie for sure was mischievous to a fault.  BUT that’s what made her so fearfully and wonderfully made.  Rest Mother.  You will be remembered by many.  Your faith and love for Jesus and His kingdom has been shown to all who knew you.  You lived REAL.  Warts and all you were yourself.

Miss Goldie’s true self.

One of Mom’s many favorite verses was John 14:26  God always assured her He was walking with her while she was raising four daughters all alone.  She knew she was never alone.

John 14:26 But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of me*—and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit—he will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I myself have told you.

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid. 28 Remember what I told you—I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really love me, you will be very happy for me, for now I can go to the Father, who is greater than I am. 29 I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do, you will believe in me.
