Whatever Is Praiseworthy

Whatever is excellent or praiseworthy!!  Think on this!!

image01
What is excellent or praiseworthy in today’s world?  Some translations say whatever is of good repute. It could be translated admirable, excellent, praiseworthy or good repute.

How’s your reputation?  Can people who know you speak of your good reputation?  Is your life one of excellence?  Of course, we know that we are not perfect but is your walk one that strives to be “of good repute”?

We have been studying this verse for several weeks.  Each week the theme has centered around living a godly life.  All of the phrases in this verse build toward one purpose–knowing Jesus and living a life that leads others to Him.

Jesus is the only one who has walked on this earth who is worthy of praise.  The Father who sent him is worthy of all praise.  The Holy Spirit who lives inside of each believer, He is worthy of praise.  The trinity, three in one, impossible to comprehend, all are admirable, praiseworthy and deserve our worship.

I pray that we will take some time today to honor the one who is worthy of praise, the one who is the truth, who is honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good reputation, excellent.  His name is Jesus.  We were made in the image or essence of God.  We too should have some measure of these qualities in our lives.

As we think on these things, it is Jesus who provides us with the power to glorify him through our lives.

I Peter 2:12 says, “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.” (NIV)

May your thoughts reach higher today.

Exalting Him who gave us new life eternally!

Great is The Lord
