When God Does Something Special
“Our Lord is great, with limitless strength; we’ll never comprehend what he knows and does.” Psalm 147:5 (MSG)
Getting your day started right
What does your day look like? It is probably super busy like mine. I get up between 4:30 and 5:00 each morning to teach for an on online company. I quickly eat, read a devotional, feed the dogs, and snatch my lunch as I hurry out the door. As I am driving to work, I call my two sons and touch base for the day. For the next eight hours, I teach sixth grade math and then prep everything at school for the next day. I arrive at home and prepare dinner and possibly relax for a moment with my husband. Then, repeat, repeat, repeat.
Slow Down – Notice what God is doing
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my day and truly love what I do. I just have to remind myself to slow down, breathe, and keep my head up to notice “When God Does Something Special.” When I do this, I notice Him every single day. Sometimes it is small but still so special. Other times it is tremendous and smacks me in the face! These are the things I recognize that couldn’t possibly be from something that I made happen.
Let God take over
The past few weeks, I have prayed for God to take over something that I have been totally failing at in my classroom since August. Thursday morning, February 28th, I noticed one of these “When God Does Something Special” moments. It just made me smile. If I were too busy in the everyday tasks, I could have missed it.
Trust God Watch for His special moments
I feel like God has been trying to get me to look up for a while now and wanting to remind me of how limitless He is. He wants you and me to start our morning off with Him, carry Him through our day, and end our day with Him . Let’s keep our heads up to notice “When God Does Something Special.” Trust the One with your day who walks on the water, speaks to the sea, and stands in the fire. Keep your head up to see “When He Does Something Special.”
“Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.” Matthew 21:21 (NLT)
