Guard Your Heart
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
Have you ever had a time in your life where you experienced a deep hurt for your children and carried a grudge toward others? I have! It is an indescribable pain that leads to hours of misery. There is only one way to turn it around and it doesn’t involve the word YOU at all.
I decided one day that my bitterness and hurt feelings were exhausting. I prayed for God to take away my bitterness and hurt.
For a while, it was an everyday prayer. Then I read a devotional that explained that getting rid of my hurts isn’t easy but asking God to guard my heart would do something that I could not do for myself.
It is all about entrusting it to God to give me the strength to not be so sensitive to situations that are hurtful.
