I’m Proud of You
“Parents rejoice when their children turn out well; wise children become proud parents. So make your father happy! Make your mother proud! Dear child, I want your full attention; please do what I show you.” Proverbs 23:24-26 (MSG)
As a parent, I have prayed my children grow up to be someone who makes wise choices, aims high, loves their life, lives each day to the fullest, to find their purpose, and to let God lead and guide them. We all want our children to grow up to be someone we are proud of.
It is such a blessing to see my sons going into the Word and striving to be the best person they were created to be. Last week, I mentioned in the devotional, “Unsure of Where You Are Headed,” Jacob was moving out and getting ready to start college. This is a blessing and such a proud moment for us. My oldest son, Nick, graduated from The University of Alabama in May with a degree in Elementary Education. With that being my degree, you can imagine how proud I am of Nick. He will be teaching Sixth Grade History. I know he is mine and I might be a little bias, his students are in for tremendous blessing. He is a person I can’t take credit for: His character, love of God, determination, love for others, and smile are just a few things that make him such a remarkable man. The influence he will make on his students will be priceless. I am so very proud he is teaching at Hale County Middle School in the town where he was raised, played sports, and attended school. I am so proud of you Nick!
Counting My Blessings,
Susan Browder
