National Geographic -Aurora Borealis
Aurora Borealis -One of God’s most glorious shows in nature. As wonderful as Aurora Borealis is, God’s greatest creation is you and me. It is hard for us to wrap our finite minds how much God loves His image-bearers. Human were created to bear His image. We should be a reflection of Him. Ephesians 2:10, “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” (NAS) In the original text, workmanship is “poiema”. We are God’s poem. C.S. Lewis said, “We are a divine work of art.” You and I are a masterpiece of the Creator of all things.
We are to focus what we have been created to do and be. So, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NAS)
Is it easy? No! Is it possible? Yes, but only in the power of the Holy Spirit, only in Jesus is it possible.
As we begin this new year, my hope and prayer is that God’s love will shine through His people. The poem this week is my prayer for this year. The video of aurora borealis’ “glow” and song at the end speaks of how we are to “glow in the dark”. The times seem very dark for so many. The world is reeling with tragedy, heartbreak and grief. In Christ, we have the answer. Troubles are a part of this fallen world. There is hope! It is in the Savior, Jesus. He is our rest and peace.
A New Year Poem
In your mercy we have a new year
By your grace we will draw near
Your mercies are new each day
We give you all our praise
In you we find our rest
To be led by you is my quest
Lead me in the way I should go
Show me what you want me to know
Guide my steps when life seems to fall apart
Teach me listen and tune my heart
Help me focus on what brings you glory
Shine through me to tell your story
Rise Up Church!!! Be Glow worms! Glow in the Dark!!
Love in Christ,
Freda
