He Knows My Name

Is.49

Isaiah 49:16 (NJKV)  Behold I have inscribed you on the palm of My hands; your walls are continually before Me.

He Knows My Name

Today I am meditating on Our Sovereign God. He rules. He reigns. My prayer is that you will take some time today to praise God the Father for His sovereign rule over his creation and his creatures, me and you.

I have learned that when I study His character my faith in Him goes stronger and deeper. Our Sovereign God is ruler and supreme in rank and authority over all.  He is creator of all things.  What a tremendous truth.  The Sovereign God knows my name.  He formed me in my mother’s womb.

“You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thoughts afar off.” (Psalms 139:2 NJKV)

The sovereignty of God is one of the hardest doctrines of the Christian life.  With our flesh, we do not like the idea that our life is not totally in our control.   Yes, by God’s grace, he has given us free will. We can choose to rebel.  But in the end, we usually find the consequences of our rebellion cost us a lot more than we want to pay and bring us to places where we never imagined we would be.  But even there his hand will take the poor choices we make and use them for good in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

What a wonderful peace there is when we find the sovereignty of God is a safe place.  Then we can rest in the knowledge that He knows the best for us.  Even when we cannot see all His plan,  we rest in the fact He will bring us through.  We can trust his heart.

trust his heart

My Sovereign God
by Freda Reynolds

He set the world in motion
Now rules with such devotion

Sovereign over all of His creation
His plans far beyond imagination

His love so pure
His grace so sure

Such a mystery
That he loves me

His love and care
I will always share

I’ve learned it’s best to trust his heart
Your faith in Him is where to start

Though storms arise and enemies assail
My anchor holds –He will prevail

His sovereign rule since time began
A scarlet thread runs through his plan

His Son He gave
The world to save

All praise to Him I’ll forever stand
For my name’s engraved within his hand

(My Redeemer Lives Nichole C. Mullens)
